Starting the New Year with Europe INNOVA

With the beginning of another year, the month of January offers a number of opportunities to learn more about some of the key issues that the Europe INNOVA partnerships are addressing, and to participate in several conferences and workshops.

"Gazelles" as drivers for job creation and innovation: How to best support them?

On the 13 January, the main results from a Sectoral Innovation Watch (SIW) study on gazelles (high growth companies) will be presented to promote a debate about the possible policy implications. The workshop will be attended by 75 representatives of relevant organisations, who will discuss how more gazelles can be nurtured in Europe, especially as many of these successful small enterprises are subsequently swallowed up by large international companies.

Registration and more information here.

The Regional KIS 100 Event

The fourth and last Europe INNOVA KIS 100 event is being organised in Paris, on 17 January 2011. Like its predecessors, it will bring together regional services innovation stakeholders. Innovation practitioners and policy-makers as well as SMEs and industrial experts will get the chance to discuss and network. Eight companies from Ile-de-France and the Castile and Léon regions will be invited to present their companies’ approaches to services innovation. The presentation that is the most original and demonstrates the most business potential will then be awarded a prize.

Registration is open until 12/01, here.

Workshop on Organisational Innovation and Value Chain

On 25 January, SIW will bring together about 50 participants to discuss the transformative effects of organisational and services innovations on industrial value and supply chains. Many of the examples discussed will be reconsidered by the Conference on Services Innovation that will take place in Rome, on 17 and 18 February.
